Falling Leaves

This card I am very proud of. I always start by looking at ideas online (www.splitcoaststampers.com normally)but this time I strayed far enough from the idea - choosing my own colors, using different stamps, painstakingly figuring out measurements, etc. - that I consider it my own. The card itself is Soft Suede from the new In Colors, the leaves are Elegent Eggplant, Mellow Moss, and Dusty Durango (also an In Color). Stamps are from the Falling Leaves set, another of my new favorites. Picture is a little dark, but it looks SO nice in person, I am thinking about using this for my swap to bring to Regionals next month.

Circle Circus cards

Glenna ordered this stamp set and now I have to add it to my wish list! We could have spent the whole weekend making cards with JUST this set. It's SO cute. And honestly, in the catalog, it didn't do anything for me...I wasn't going to get this one. Wonder how many more would be my new favorite stamp sets if I just saw them in action???

Great Friend cards

I have lots and LOTS of cards to share. My BFF Glenna came up to visit for the whole weekend. (We have 9 kids between us, so both of us getting a WHOLE weekend away is truly a rarity!) I will put up the pictures in a few different posts by stamp set.

Using scraps!

I love it when I use my scraps. Usually I try to save them and maybe once in a while I will try to organize them, but normally they just pile up until I can't stand it anymore and throw them away. So, it's a big deal when I use my scraps...well to me anyway. And so here's the card I made with my scraps from the housewarming card that I just posted last week.

House-warming card

I made a house-warming card, a couple actually, and I even mailed one and gave the other away...that's huge for me, usually when I make something I have to keep it. My box of cards keeps growing. What am I saving them for? No idea. But I like to have them. :)

Anyway, here is my card. It's a pure scraplift from www.splitcoaststampers.com, but I had to change the papers and colors, so I wanted to post it anyway. The house is part of the jumbo wheel called Neighborhood (item #109685)The cardstock colors are Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, and Bashful Blue, and those color markers along with Certainly Celery and Real Red were also used. The striped ribbon really tied a nice knot, I usually struggle with that a lot more than I did with this one - it's Pumpkin Pie 1/2" Striped Grosgain Ribbon (#110715) now I need to put the rest of the colors on my wishlist! The patterned paper is from the Washington Apple designer series paper collection that was recently retired from the last catalog.

The house, circle, and clouds are all pop-dotted, and with the ribbon knot it was a little bulky. I'll be sure to post if my card comes back to me from the post office, but I hope it won't. The "congratulations" greeting is from the Fun & Fast Notes set (#113500) which is one of my favorites!

Thanks for looking!
